The Twig Cafe

Last saturday  I went out with P-chan, we actually went out to look for our bridesmaid dress. And the bride told us to check out her bridal which was located at Pluit. So we stop at PIK for our (late) lunch and continue to dinner.

First of all, we were famished! I haven't got any breakfast (except for a few chocolate pearls XD) Though we went out pretty early from my suburbs, traffic was such a killer and we spent around an hour at the bridal. So I was pretty beat as well. So then we decided to try out this 'The Twig Cafe'. It looks cute from outside and we all know that I'm a sucker for everything cute.  So we went in and yup I love their decor.  Neat with A little bit Parisian feeling and a small touch of knick knacks.

We browse their menu (which is also cute and helpful - everything has their own photo to invoke your appetite) and we decided to try one each (one appetizer, one main course and one deserts) with tea for each of us.

My tea, Gryphon's 'Nymph of the Nile'
First time trying their tea and I LOVE it! the fruity smell is so lovely! Though it has a very strong smell, but the taste is not overpowering and it's refreshing. The tea comes with a complimentary cookie - cheese sagoo cookie.

The Twig Sandwich - overall I thought the sandwich was too dry. Make it a little bit hard to swallow. And P-chan keep complaining it was too sweet (though it was fine by me, my tongue need stronger taste XD) And I like their coleslaw (although I hate raisin :p)

Creme brulle - The surface is a little bit hard and there's no caramel sauce drizzled inside but overall i think it's a ok.

P-chan's tea, Gryphon's 'White Gingerlily', the smell is not as strong as mine. The tea taste milder than mine and you can taste the ginger and lemongrass, both ingredients I'm not a fan of, so I don't really dig this tea, but P-chan love it. That tea suit her and mine suits me better XD It's awesome to order the right tea for ourself XD And of course it showed us again, how different we were in terms of taste but we still love to hunt food together, aren't that awesome?! XD

Stuffed mushroom - This taste delish if you love mushroom. The stuffing was mild so you can still taste the original mushroom taste. I like it. plus an extra coleslaw make me happy (I get P-chan to eat the raisins :P) Just that I don't understand why use the white papery thing as part of the serving. It's not a fried dish, it was a 'wet' dish and the juice from the dish soaked the paper, ruining the appearance for me >.<

Here's the cafe from where we sat.

The price was ranging between 28k - 100k. And they still have 20% disc for food when we went there (don't know until when though). Overall the higlight of it was the tea. I'd definitely come back just for the tea XD For the food, well... maybe we choose the wrong food. *shrugs* And they do recommended their cupcake, but i'm not a really big fan of cupcake either so I skipped it last time. Maybe I should try those.
