I'm not much of a Chinese cuisine eater. But I do love Dim Sums and especially love Xiao Liong Bao.
There's this new Shanghai cuisine's restaurant open in Kelapa Gading area, called Jiang Nan Chun. Specialising in Xiao Liong Bao. Of course I went and try ^-^

Surprisingly for a Xiao Liong Bao restaurant, they only have one type of it. the taste is pretty good. of course not as good as Din Tai fung but well the price is also different XD Though i still say the Iton's xiao liong bao also better than this but last time i ate there i was disappointed with their xiao liong bao, so this restaurant rank not bad on my list. They also sell buns, porridge, noodles and cold dishes among the other. One thing to take note, the dishes on this restaurant really have a strong flavour, so if ypu like strong flavour dish, this will suit you but if not, you might find them too overpowering. I like strong flavour food so I found them pretty good.

I would recommend to try their fried buns (Jiang nan chun fried mantao) it's actually like a grilled version of xiao long bao. Different soup inside though, but i found it taste better than the xiao liong bao. Also their noodles is pretty good too (I ate the pork noodles). And i would recommend to stay away from the porridge, unless you like Chinese version of porridge (which what i would prefer to call 'rice in soup' than a porridge)

The pricing is pretty cheap for a xiao liong bao, they cost about 32 k per 6 pcs, fried bun 4 pcs 32k, noodles the same price. and everything else under it. Chinese tea cost you 8k/pax. They only got 1 type of chinese teas and guessing from the bitter taste, they got oolong tea. all in all I said it's pretty decent for a xiao liong bao restaurant.

Since the place is new and I bet it's the first time for the owner to open up a restaurant, it's almost chaotic. a little bit slow on the service and they got confused with their own system, but at least they received credit cards. The place is not that big either. I think it would fit around 30 people. and not to mention the parking is hard over that street. But at least I know I'll got to this place when I;'mm craving for xiao liong bao but a little bit tight on the money. XD

The Front view

The Guantang Bao - contains of chicken stock, You only drink the chicken stock that's inside the bun, without eating the bun (well you can if you want) I thought the stock taste a little bit weird. I prefer Nan Xiang version for this type of dish.

Xiao Liong Bao, grab as fast as you can!!

The Fried bun

The chinese tea pot. aren't they cute? XD
